  • Abstract摘要

The speaker will give two talks continuously.

Talk I: Quantum States of Fields for Quantum Split Sources

Abstract I: Field mediated entanglement experiments (or BMV experiment) probe the quantum superposition of macroscopically distinct field configurations. We show that this phenomenon can be described by using a transparent quantum field theoretical formulation of electromagnetism and gravity in the field basis. The strength of such a description is that it explicitly displays the superposition of macroscopically distinct states of the field. In the case of (linearized) quantum general relativity, this formulation exhibits the quantum superposition of geometries giving rise to the effect.

Talk II: Virasoro Charges and Entropy for Axisymmetric Killing Horizons

Abstract II: We show that the gravitational phase space for the near-horizon region of a bifurcate, axisymmetric Killing horizon in D \leq 3 admits a 2D conformal symmetry algebra with central charges proportional to the area.  This extends the construction of Haco et. al. 2018 to generic Killing horizons appearing in solutions of Einstein's equations, and motivates a holographic description in terms of a 2D conformal field theory.  We also derive the condition for integrable Virasoro generators through the analysis of null symplectic structure on the covariant phase space. The condition leads to two equal central charges and selects a special temperature relationship for the putative CFT. The Cardy entropy in such a field theory agrees with the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the horizon, suggesting a microscopic interpretation.

Bio 报告人简介: Lin-Qing (陈琳青) is currently a postdoc researcher at the Centre for Quantum Information and Communication, Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her research interests are perturbative and non-perturbative quantum gravity, black hole physics, and the interplay among the quantum foundation, quantum information and quantum gravity. She will move to the quantum information group at ETH in March to continue postdoc research in the QISS Consortium.
